| Cash For Waste Want to make money from junk? Well you can. Honestly! There are many ways to do this that you may not be aware of. Below are just some of the things you may have laying around in your shed or garage that you can recycle for cash. Copper
Are you having a new central heating system fitted in your property? Did you know that an average copper cylinder boiler has a scrap value of between 35 and 50 pounds depending on the daily metal prices. Along with the old pipe work that will be replaced, you could make a tidy sum from your old central heating system. So do not let the heating engineer make the money. Simply take the copper to your nearest scrap metal dealer for cash.
Aluminium
Old window frames, a scrap car engine block, a shed full of unwanted bikes, car alloy wheels, even saving all your drink cans. These are all sources of aluminium. Instead of throwing them in a skip or taking them to the tip, take them to your local scrap metal merchant. Please be aware, some aluminium is very light, so you will need a decent amount to make it worth the trip.
Lead / Brass
If you clear out a shed or garage and happen to come across some lead or brass, head straight for the recyclers with it. Brass and Lead are heavy metals, and you don't need too much of either to get some extra cash in your pocket.

Pumps
Pumps that are used to pump water through your central heating system and many other types of pumps can be taken to a metal recycler and you will receive cash for the weight of them. So if you come across one of these in your shed or garage, don't throw it away, swap it for cash.
Motors
Lawn mowers, strimmers, generators, etc. The motors from these every day bits of garden equipment can all be recycled for cash.
Electricals
Do you have an unwanted television, stereo, dvd player or any electrical items that are in good working order that you no longer want? Instead of chucking them away, why not take them along to your nearest cash convertor type store. Although you may not get a kings ransom, they may offer you something for your electricals. If the item you are taking has a remote control unit, be sure to take it too, as they will not accept the item without it. back to the top |
